July 20th, 2000We had a beautiful day in Soldotna , Alaska for the Progress Days Parade this year. There were 22 proud little dachshunds struting their stuff in this years gathering.
The 'Weenies On Parade' banner announces the dachshunds are coming.
A small but proud group for this year's parade.
Diane, the leader of the Weenies On Parade, carries Porgy, who wasn't feeling well.
Something graps the groups attention.
Then it's on the way once again.
By the way, Diane took Porgy to the vet after the parade and Porgy's problem that day was a tooth that had slashed his gums and caused him to swallow blood. That then made him sick to his stomach and he threw up the blood he had swallowed. By that afternoon Porgy was okay again. Thanks to all who e-mailed and called about Porgy.
Who's walking whom?
A nice warm Alaskan day.
Tekels and their companions head down the parade route.
Nicole with Taz and Willow.
Robby with Spike.
A sure crowd pleaser, Weenies On Parade are a Progress Days Parade staple.
Come on and join us. There's always room for one more dachshund.
Rest up, we'll see ya next year.
If any of you that were in the parade and saw your picture above or on any of the other parade pages and would like you and/or your dachshund to be identified under the picture I'll be glad to do it. And if you have a web page I'll include a link to it if you'd like. Email me, Dave, at e-mail me with the info and which picture it is.
