Weenies On Parade - '99
July 24th, 1999As you'll see it was a rainy Saturday in Soldotna , Alaska for the Progress Days Parade this year . Even so, there were 37 proud little dachshunds struting their stuff in this years gathering.
Diane Fielden, the leader of Weenies On Parade, carries the banner at the begining of the group.

"The weenies in the little red wagon were mine. We had a great time last year. I'm sorry I won't get to join the fun again this year. I enjoyed the site very much. The girls in the wagon have since past on and it lifted my heart to see them on the internet. They were both 17 years old."

All shapes, colors and sizes of wiener dogs are out for the event.

The Croas family includes: Carmen holding leash for Gretchen (wirehaired dachshund). Sitting on the curb are: John is holding Struedel (red smooth haired dachie) and Isaac holding leash for Hildy (red smooth haired) and Oscar (black and tan dachie).
